Join us at a special deep dive breakfast session focused on key topics address Bay Area health department expectations in the workplace: "Unexpected Health Department Violations – What Next?”

Agenda:

  • Overview of issues existing facilities are facing:  Understanding why and how existing breakrooms, pantries, and similar spaces traditionally outside of Health Department purview are now being flagged as violations.
  • Understanding the triggers: Begin by learning how to hold conversations with the Health inspectors, basic requirements, and steps to address the situation.
  • Addressing and minimizing the issues: Best practices and proactive strategies (including creative approaches). 

This session will be led by experts in navigating the physical space requirements for DEH (Department of Environmental Health) who will provide valuable insights and practical tips on maintaining and designing for code compliant workplace amenities.

Presenters:

Jenny Chang is an Associate and senior Project Architect at Gensler with over 17 years of experience in Technology, K-12, Higher Education, Mixed Use, and Professional Services in the Bay Area.  She provides technical leadership to deliver well-crafted and beautifully-coordinated built environments that inspire and endure.  As a Design Realization leader, Jenny plays a pivotal role in growing the next generation of technical designers and architects in the Gensler Northwest region.  She actively serves on the California Code Advisory Committee for the 2024-2026 cycle.

 

Jacqueline Zuhoski is a Technical Director, a core member of GPS Team and a Northwest Regional Wellness Practice Area Leader at Gensler. With 25 years of diverse experience spanning the realms of Tech workplace, Food and Beverage, Professional Services and Fitness, she consistently integrated sustainability into my projects. Her unwavering commitment to every project is evident in her adeptness at fostering productive relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and building officials. As a Technical Director and sustainable design leader, Jacqueline seamlessly integrates all facets of the design process to deliver successful projects.
